Connecting your office to Asite for advanced document management and offline working

Asite Navigator is an application for your computer that helps you manage files between your office and Asite Document Manager, giving you advanced document management and synchronisation capabilities. By setting local "Working Folders" on your PC, Network or even internal Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), you can tell Navigator where you store versions of files you send or receive via Asite.

If you need to revise a file that exists in Asite, you can use Asite Navigator to "Check Out" the file for editing. The document will appear to other users as being "locked for editing" so they know you're updating it, and when you're done you can "Check In" the document and share the new version with the rest of your team at the touch of a button. Navigator takes care of where the document needs to go, leaving you to concentrate on the contents of your document!

Navigator also helps you to manage local copies of documents if you need to keep a copy of the latest version. Navigator tells you what you need to do! It tells you when files you have synchronised to your Working Folder have been revised in Asite, and vice versa. If you receive CAD models from other parties which are constantly being revised, Navigator can audit all of the files and tell you which ones are out of date in your Working Folder. Navigator is your CAD manager and does the thinking for you!

For those who are constantly on the move, Navigator also allows you to mark Workspaces for offline working, and copy files and listing information to your computer so that you can view and work on it when you are not connected to the internet. Once you re-connect Navigator can sync your changes meaning that not having an internet connection no longer means not being able to work.
