Doing our part for the environment we all live in

As a long-time champion of the capacity of Software as a Service to deliver huge improvements to the environmental impact of the construction industry, we take it as a matter of principle to not create a paper-based statement of our environmental policy.
Asite has identified the potential environmental impacts of the company as the generation of paper waste and of electrical and electronic waste (ie computer equipment). One of the primary benefits of using Asite's software services is the reduction of paper in business-to-business processes. In this same spirit we operate a policy of mandatory recycling of paper waste in all of our offices. Similarly, the company utilises services for recycling of all computer equipment which are compliant with both the WEEE Regulations 2006 (waste electrical and electronic equipment) and the Hazardous Waste Act.
Asite endeavours to achieve many of its targets including:
Energy
- Ensuring that monitors and IT equipment are switched off when not in use
- Using low energy light bulbs
- Promoting energy efficient practices
- Planning to invest in energy efficient technologies
Travel
- Measuring all business mileage and incorporating into Carbon Footprint data
- Using an eco-friendly courier that uses electric motorbikes and hybrid vehicles
- Encouraging web-based meetings and teleconferencing in place of business travel and to measure savings
- Ensuring public transport is used where possible and limit car and air travel
Waste
- Using glasses/mugs in the office instead of disposable cups
- Recycling paper, plastic, cans, toner cartridges and electronic equipment
- Printing all publications and business cards on recycled materials
Others
Asite's environmental policy is communicated internally through the staff induction process. Asite aspires to be an ethical consumer, so only uses Fair Trade tea, coffee and hot chocolate, and eco-friendly cleaning products.
