Asite launched Asite Workspace, an entry-level collaboration tool in January 2007. The tool answers the need for collaboration during the early stages of a construction project, when the cost and features of advanced collaboration tools are not justified.

REID Architecture, who have recently announced a merger with 3D to become 3DReid and are one of the UK's major architectural forces, chose Asite Workspace to collaborate with its supply chain at the early stages of the Gibraltar's new air terminal project.

Architects typically produce significant quantities of drawings and documents which need to be shared and reviewed with other members of the design team and supply chain. Asite Workspace removes the barriers of using collaboration tools from the beginning of projects thanks to its entry-level price and features.

Architects can now keep records of all documents and their audit trails created from the beginning of the project and access its data on the move. If the project requires the use of an advanced collaboration tool, all documents can be simply transferred to Asite Project Workflow, a powerful workflow application, removing the time and cost consuming task of backtracking documents, a process often used when collaboration tools are only implemented at the construction phase of a project.

The printing and postal cost savings made by using the collaboration tool appears to be even more important at this stage of the project.

Asite is showing the way to integrated supply chains, allowing effective collaboration and interactivity with the supply chain from the beginning of the project.
