Asite announces the 2013 ‘down under’ edition of the global collaborative openBIM event October 28th – 30th , 2013

Following the tremendous success of Build Qatar Live 2012 and Build London Live 2012 and building on the pioneering 2008 and 2009 events; organizers Asiteand headline sponsor Nemetschek Vectorworks will bring a Build Live event to Australia.

The two day virtual competition event commencing Monday, October 28th 2013 - Noon and running through to Wednesday, October 28th 2012 – Noon, will invite BIM practitioners from all over the world to demonstrate their BIM expertise and collaborate in OpenBIM in the design and engineering of a project from an internationally known site in Sydney.

Tony Ryan, Asite CEO said ‘We entered the Australian market 18 months ago and have been bowled over by the level of investment they are putting into cloud solutions for the AEC and infrastructure industries.  Australian businesses have absolutely embraced the cloud.”

What is a BUILD LIVE Event?

New technology is revolutionising the way buildings are designed and how the public can be engaged in the process. By using the power of collaborative working in the cloud and international developments in interoperability, Build Sydney Live will demonstrate the power of these new paradigms for architecture, engineering, planning and construction. Through cloud-based collaboration the event is open to worldwide participation.  Over the course of the previous four Build Live events in Doha and London, thirty-five teams have taken part with participants from over 80 countries around the world.

Nathan Doughty, Asite COO and BuildingSMART board member said ‘Projects across Australia are actively deploying BIM to reduce costs.   We expect to see many local teams participating alongside their global partners in Build Sydney Live to demonstrate the benefits of Collaborative BIM in the Cloud and we look forward to supporting them.’

The Challenge

On October 1st - Noon AEDT, a specially chosen and internationally recognizable site in Sydney will be announced.
