The redevelopment of Ascot Racecourse comprises the construction of a new stand forming the focal point of the redevelopment, the highlights of which include:

  • An internal galleria, bringing natural light into a covered public concourse that will provide even-tempered environmental shelter at the heart of the building.
  • A fully integrated hotel, built within the grandstand facilities, giving additional viewing boxes on race days and incorporating a health club and restaurant
  • A new parade ring located between the new stand and the High Street to give stepped viewing for 9000 racegoers (up from the current paddock capacity of 3000) in a position that will be more accessible for more racegoers
  • A new pre-parade ring returned to its historic location with saddling boxes in the grade II listed building on the south side of the current paddock lawn
  • A new Silver Ring tented village for Royal Ascot with viewing terraces closer to the track than at present Improved racegoer circulation made possible by realigning the straight mile 42 metres northward
  • A new operational servicing concept comprising a covered access road running under the length of the stand and designed for operational efficiency and to decrease traffic impact on the local community
