Bouygues Travaux Publics – Murphy Joint Venture

Background

Lower Thames Crossing, developed by National Highways, is a major UK infrastructure project to improve road links between Kent, Thurrock, and Essex. Bouygues Travaux Publics - Murphy Joint Venture (BMJV) is delivering the Tunnels and Approaches Contract, which includes building Europe's widest and the UK's longest twin-bore tunnels at 2.6 miles, each carrying three lanes of traffic.

To support the project's scale and the complexity of subcontract procurement, BMJV needed a secure solution to manage tender distribution and subcontract procurement across the project supply chain. Auditability and version control were essential for demonstrating fairness, reducing risk, and maintaining confidence throughout tendering activities.

Solution

BMJV used Asite's Bid Management module and Common Data Environment (CDE) to centralize subcontract tendering within a single controlled environment. Tender packs were issued digitally and linked directly to the latest project information, ensuring all the bidders received consistent, up-to-date documentation without the limitations of email-based distribution. Asite's built-in audit trail provided full visibility of procurement activity, with communications and document access automatically recorded to support compliance, traceability, and fair tender management.

In this case study, learn how the contractor worked with Asite to:

  • Centralize digital tendering
  • Demonstrate a robust audit trail and compliance assurance
  • Streamline communication and query management
