LANTIS

(Antwerp, Belgium)

Lantis-1

Lantis, formerly known as “Antwerp Management Company Mobiel SA”, is a leading construction firm which works on complex mobility and infrastructure projects in Europe. With a mission to make the city and region flourish, by building sustainable and functional networks to connect citizens and communities, Lantis required a cloud-based information management solution to work across a $3 billion project.

The latest project to be undertaken is the Oosterweel link in Antwerp, which aims to link several major cities together, such as Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. The project will span the length of 15km and will consist of five key sub projects, including the construction of several roads and tunnels in the city.

Following a competitive bid process, the Asite Common Data Environment (CDE) was selected as the cloud-based solution for Lantis across a portfolio of exciting projects in the region. The Asite Platform met all the essential project requirements for the delivery, maintenance and support of a CDE for Lantis. The Asite CDE enables project teams to efficiently manage and share information, and organize their project on one secure platform throughout the construction lifecycle.

After a year of using the Asite Platform for the Oosterweel link project, Lantis decided to integrate their entire business processes. This allows them to securely store and manage all information relating to their company and their various projects. In addition, Lantis are also able to benefit from a full audit trail of all documents and information, helping to minimize risk at all levels of the organization.

Lantis has also utilized the Asite AppBuilder capability, which has empowered the project team to build their own custom apps, further streamlining project development. Project teams can now replicate manual, paper-based processes within an online environment, by creating forms which are tailored to their collaborative process.

The Oosterweel sub projects will provide the foundation for the infrastructural transformation in the city of Antwerp. The new interchanges will have a 9km long bicycle path, enabling both motorists and non-motorists to enjoy the benefits of a more interconnected city. The Canal tunnels will provide direct links to Luxembourg, Germany and Brussels, whilst the Scheldt tunnel will feature a 1.8km long immersed tunnel, with two tubes, for both motorway traffic and cyclists.

The Scheldt tunnel will then be connected to the new Oosterweel junction, allowing cyclists to rapidly access the port. The final sub project will see the removal of the existing Merksem Viaduct, which will be replaced with a new junction to allow for a smoother flow of traffic. The overall aim of this significant project is to see vast improvements in, accessibility to the city and the port, reductions in congestion, enhanced traffic safety and an improved quality of life in the Antwerp region.

Over 54,000 companies use Asite to help them build better.
