Asite Solutions Ltd, a provider of software and services to support project management and procurement, announces today a strategic alliance with Reqio, the product information management (PIM) company. Customers will be able to further improve the way they handle product and contract content by managing their entire purchasing process electronically.

After extensive review of competitive options, Asite has chosen to integrate Reqio's software to extend the catalogue management functionality of their electronic purchasing solution. The alliance will enable Asite's customers to empower their suppliers to better manage their own catalogues and contract content, providing buyers with easy access to detailed product information that is up to date and accurate.

The content management system provided by Reqio will enable the assimilation of content from a variety of sources within the supplier's organisation and allow the supplier to publish rich content in catalogues tailored to individual buyers and specifiers. The catalogues can also be published in a variety of formats so that they can be hosted as the buyer chooses - from its local procurement system or via Asite's platform. An increasing number of UK businesses are recognising product content as a key business asset and are looking to experienced vendors that can help them exploit and manage this opportunity. The joint Asite and Reqio offering has already attracted interest in the market.

Tom Dengenis, CEO of Asite plc, comments, "Reqio's technology complements Asite's technology by providing customers with the opportunity to achieve a completely integrated purchasing and enterprise-wide content management solution from a single provider. It furthers Asite's ambition to provide a consistent, centrally managed set of data as well as delivering additional flexibility to our customers. Content can now be hosted on the customers' preferred system rather than having to use additional new systems to do so."

Will Lovatt, Sales & Alliances Director at Reqio, continues, "Organisations no longer want to work with numerous disparate systems. Instead they are seeking enterprise-wide solutions that deliver both the transactional elements and up to the minute access and management of product information. By combining Reqio and Asite technologies we are able to respond to this market need and deliver high performance solutions for today's demanding and ever-changing markets."
