At the time, Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s project management processes were underdeveloped — both its workflow and document management processes were manually managed. Data was input to a local network share, which was only accessible from locations within the organization, and further authentication was also required via CPN from locations outside of the network.  

To deliver this program, the council needed a solution that supported the automation of manual processes, collaboration across multiple teams within and outside the local authority, real-time access to key information, and an audit trail across projects.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council adopted Asite’s cloud-based platform to deliver greater accountability and efficiency. The Platform connects and organizes multiple teams, providing users with secure and instant access to information from any location.

Moreover, the design and construction teams could use it for version control and progress overviews throughout the entire project. The platform could also run custom reports on any pertinent information, including detailed supplier execution across the enterprise and the time taken to complete actions around workflows, approvals, drawings, documents and risks.

Following the success of the platform in the delivery of the BSF program, the council decided to extend their utilization of Asite to include the Bid Management tool for its Private Finance Initiative (PFI) Extracare program.

Birches Head High School and Ormiston Meridian Academy (formerly Sandon high School) are examples of two schools that were refurbished and provided with ICT funding in the area, now offering world-class learning facilities for thousands of children.
