[London, UK – Tuesday, 7th July] - Asite has announced a new Automated Clash Detection capability to automate model coordination across construction projects.
The new capability, Cloud Clash by Asite 3D Repo, addresses one of the industry’s most persistent coordination challenges. Traditional clash detection processes are repetitive and fragmented. Conventional workflows often require BIM teams to download federated models from the Common Data Environment (CDE) locally, rerun tests on their workstations, and manually distribute the resulting clashes to the relevant stakeholders to address as designs evolve. Moving models between disconnected applications can create version control risks, coordination delays, and limited project visibility.
With Cloud Clash, workflows can be configured once and automatically rerun whenever new model revisions are uploaded. The system continuously monitors design changes in the cloud. This removes repetitive manual tasks and enables faster, more consistent coordination cycles.
Integrated directly into Asite 3D Repo, the feature automatically generates and updates coordination tickets for identified clashes, with user-defined templates. This allows BIM and project teams to focus on resolving high-risk issues instead of repeating the same task manually over and over. Cloud workflows enable users to isolate clashes, review contextual model views and accelerate multidisciplinary issue resolution collaboratively in 3D, while Tabular Views provide an instantaneous preview of the state of a whole federation.
The capability also introduces high-precision model analysis. It guarantees accuracy to ±1mm over 100km and supports individual BIM elements up to 8km, when modelled relative to a shared origin. This represents a significant advancement for complex infrastructure and major project environments.
"We have spoken extensively with BIM and project teams across the industry. Faster, automated coordination has been a consistent request. Teams want to spend less time uploading and downloading files to rerun clash tests and managing disconnected workflows. Cloud Clash helps teams coordinate BIM models continuously and focus their time on resolving project risks faster.”
