[London, UK – Tuesday 12th May] – Asite, a leading information management platform for the built environment, today announced its role on the Lower Thames Crossing project. Bouygues Travaux Publics – Murphy Joint Venture (BMJV) is using the platform to digitize subcontract tendering, bringing greater transparency, consistency, and control to procurement.
Lower Thames Crossing is one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, designed by National Highways to improve road connections between Kent, Thurrock, and Essex. BMJV is responsible for the Tunnels and Approaches Contract, delivering 16.4‑metre‑diameter twin‑bore tunnels that will be the widest in Europe and the UK’s longest (2.6 miles), each carrying three lanes in one direction.
For a project of this scale, subcontractor procurement must be fair, auditable, and efficient. The proactive BMJV team identified the risks in traditional email-based tendering. These included fragmented communication, version confusion, and limited visibility.
To address this, BMJV has implemented a centralized digital tendering process. All tender activity is managed within a single, controlled environment. This ensures that every subcontractor receives consistent and up-to-date information.
“With Asite, everything is in one place. We don’t have to worry about file sizes, links expiring, or who’s received what. It’s all tracked automatically. It’s not just about saving time; it’s about doing things properly. Asite gives us confidence that our tenders are managed in a controlled, ethical, and transparent way.”

Asite gives BMJV full visibility across procurement activities. Every document, interaction, and update is recorded. This creates a complete and auditable record at every stage. BMJV teams can track when documents are issued, opened, and reviewed. This strengthens compliance and supports governance requirements. It also reduces the risk of disputes later in the project.
Communication with subcontractors is structured and consistent. Queries are managed in one place, and responses are clearly tracked. This ensures that all bidders are treated equally throughout the process.
The shift has reduced administrative effort across procurement teams. It has also improved confidence in the integrity of the tendering process. Teams spend less time managing emails and more time focusing on delivery.
Mahmoud Hleihel, Chief Strategy Officer at Asite commented, “Projects like the Lower Thames Crossing demand clarity, accountability, and precision. BMJV is setting a strong example by embedding digital processes into procurement. This approach supports better outcomes across the entire supply chain and supports the project’s long-term success.”
As the project progresses, BMJV continues to build on this digital foundation. The focus remains on consistency, transparency, and long-term project efficiency.
